Delta8 thc is different from delta9 thc by only a few atomic bonds and has a portion but not all of the psychoactivity as delta9. People anecdotally report that it provides all the perks of delta9 - without the anxiety or paranoia. Delta8 thc is found in small percentages in the hemp plant, but not enough to extract. So it is made by converting hemp derived cbd into delta8 thc.

Yaaas! According to the 2018 farm bill, all derivatives of hemp (cannabinoids, terps etc.) are completely legal in the united states as long as they do not contain more than 0.3% thc (delta9 thc to be specific).
